Highly Sensitive People
Do you often feel deeply impacted by the emotions of others, and find it hard to shake off negative experiences or criticisms? Do you feel deeply and intensely, often experiencing heightened levels of empathy, intuition, and creativity? Do you feel emotionally activated in close relationships, sometimes struggling to manage your strong feelings? Are you easily overwhelmed by sensory input, such as bright lights, loud noises, or strong odors? If so, you may be a highly sensitive person (HSP), and you're not alone.
There are unique challenges and gifts of being highly sensitive, and I am here to partner with you in order to leverage those gifts, manage the challenges, and thrive as an HSP. Highly sensitive people often report feeling invalidated or misunderstood by those around them and societal expectations at large. I work to provide a therapeutic space that affirms your experience of the world while empowering you to navigate it with more agency, self-acceptance, and joy.
Our therapy sessions are tailored to your individual needs and may include a variety of approaches, such as somatic processing and skill-building, self-compassion, emotion regulation, and boundary-setting skills. We work collaboratively together to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, enhance your self-care practices, and develop effective tools to navigate relationships, work, and everyday life as an HSP. In addition to skill-building, our therapy will provide a compassionate space to process the heightened emotions you experience each week, as well as past experiences that may be continuing to impact your life.
