My Approach
I utilize attachment, relational and somatic orientations in conjunction with Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients heal from trauma, build and maintain meaningful relationships, and experience their lives more fully. I am a liberation-oriented therapist, which means that I believe therapy can build toward both collective and individual healing.
In our work together, we will engage in deeply curious exploration of your inner and outer worlds and the interactions between them. Over time, we will uncover and compassionately examine the underlying beliefs and patterns that drive your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. As the vulnerability in our work expands, we will tenderly care for the parts of you that have been neglected or injured. We will connect with your deepest desires and values to imagine new possible ways of being. Then, we will hold you lovingly accountable to move in the direction that both sparks and grounds you. Although we always have an eye on your goals for therapy, the process is non-linear and ever-evolving to meet you where you are on any given day.
As your therapist, I will accept and embrace you exactly as you are while also challenging you to see yourself and your life in new, expanded ways. I believe that therapy is a place to bring your whole self. There will be space to cry and fall apart. There will be space to laugh, rage, contemplate. There will be space to confront difficult truths and explore all the frightening, exciting possibilities that life can offer.
